Excellent for coughs, cold and flu. I personally diffuse eucalyptus with rosemary, peppermint and lemon essential oils for my 6 year old daughter when she starts to develop a cough or cold. She has viral induced asthma and diffusing this blend in her room at the first sign has always lead to her not needing her inhaler.
Also works really well as a steam inhalation with the whole plant steeping in boiled water or with the essential oils in a cup of hot water and a towel over your head. But for kids I feel like the diffuser is safer due to the fact that there is no hot water and it's not right in their face. I also make a chest salve with eucalyptus in it for coughs and congestion.
Eucalyptus can also be applied topically as a salve, oil or liniment for relief from the pain from arthritis.
