Key Components: 30-40% fixed oil (including: Omega 3 & 6 alpha-linolenic acid & oleic acid). Mucilage (up to 10%). Protein. Glycoside (linamarin). 

Preparations & dosage: Food. Infusion: 2-3 tsp per cup of water. Steeped 10-15 minutes. Tincture. Poultice. 

Actions: 

Foundational: Demulcent.
Primary: Laxative. Emollient. Antitussive. 

Secondary:

Uses: 

Pulmonary infections such as pleurisy & bronchitis where there is stuck water. or dry, irritable cough.  

A poultice for shingles. 

Take as a supplement or in food for dry itchy skin conditions including psoriasis and eczema. 

Relieves constipation by lubricating a dry colon with its oils. 

Lubricates and nourishes dry tight muscles and tendons. 


Combines well with: Marshmallow. Slippery Elm.
